- Narrative: boy meets girl, some kind of connection there... the fact that this is the last thing to happen in the opening shows that this will be the main focus of the narrative throughout the film
- Soundtrack: upbeat, happy, but also quite mellow to stop it seeming too comedic - there are serious elements to our film
- Naturalistic lighting with possible colour grading to improve warmth of colours; enhances romantic element

- Voiceover: explains theme of mental illness, most likely to be a drama
"Five years ago I was diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder..." with some more comedic elements, e.g. "It's not a bad place, but I must admit, it lacks flair."
